How to replace the intermediate steering shaft on 2010 Chevrolet HHR?

In order to change the intermediate steering shaft, fix the steering wheel against movement and then take off the left front tire. Unscrew the intermediate steering shaft of the steering gear and column and remove the seal then install the new shaft making sure that it fits into position. Install the tire again and adjust the steering angle sensor (where necessary).
