How to replace the front drive shaft on 2010 GMC Canyon?

The replacement of front propeller shaft starts by raising the vehicle with support under it. Record the position of both the front u-joint fixation with the front Differential pinion yoke and the rear u-joint attachment to the transfer case drive flange. Start by removing nuts and bolts from the drive flange before moving on to the clamps and bolts attached to the front drive axle pinion flange until the front propeller shaft can be taken off from the vehicle. You should wrap front u-joint bearing caps with either tape or rubber bands to keep them from separating. First remove tape or rubber band then install the front propeller shaft and position its reference marks correctly on the front u-joint. The retaining bolts for the front propeller shaft need to be tightened only to a finger-tight stage before securing the front u-joint bolts and clamps. The reference marks on the rear u-joint must be aligned before installing the propeller shaft to pinion flange bolts which should be torqued to 20 nm (15 lb ft) and the front propeller u-joint clamp bolts receive the same torque value. Finally, lower the vehicle.
