    Q: How to replace the Parking Brake Cable on the left rear side (J65) on Buick LaCrosse?
    A: A vehicle support system plays a crucial role when replacing the left side parking brake rear cable (J65). Start this replacement by removing the tire and its supporting components at the rear section. The rear suspension support assembly equalizer should have its cable disconnected. Depress the retaining tabs on the Parking Brake Cable through its proximity to the equalizer using Parking Brake Cable release tool (J 37043). You need to remove the rear brake caliper guide bolts before separating the caliper from its bracket position. The Parking Brake Cable needs to pass through the wheel opening following the removal of its loose end. Place the caliper with the convex side pointed downward until the lower guide pin hole matches with the upper guide pin hole of the bracket. After inserting the caliper guide pin bolt through the lower guide pin hole of the caliper it should extend into the upper guide pin hole of the bracket to stabilize the assembly. Adjust the Parking Brake Cable end within the caliper lever to show one of the three retainers through the lever opening. A screwdriver enables you to tilt the caliper lever while depressing the tab through its window allowing cable end removal through the caliper lever. Take out the Parking Brake Cable that is inside the vehicle. Install the Parking Brake Cable inside the vehicle by seating the cable end fitting into the caliper lever at its proper position. Pass the cable end from wheel opening to reach the rear support assembly. The brake caliper requires placement at the correct position before tightening both guide bolts to 34 n.m (25 lb ft). The equalizer stud requires installation to the equalizer nut before cable slack becomes taken up at the equalizer assembly. Put the rear wheel and tire on then lower the car before adjusting the parking brake system.
