The first step to replace a Radiator involves draining the engine coolant then removing the upper Radiator seal together with the upper tie bar. The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) should be used to disconnect the coolant overflow hose from the Radiator before plugging the hose. Remove the upper and lower Radiator hoses from the Radiator through using hose clamp pliers (J 38185) and set them beside you during the process. The bolt securing the transaxle oil cooler pipe should be removed from the lower tie bar before extracting the cooling fans. Hold the plastic cap when sliding it off transaxle oil cooler pipe quick connect fittings before using the cooler quick connect tool (J 41623-B) to unplug upper and lower transaxle oil cooler pipes from the Radiator. First detach the a/c condenser by removing its mounting bolts then disconnect it from the Radiator in order to extract the Radiator from the vehicle. The bottom of the Radiator should be placed into the lower pad followed by condenser installation onto the Radiator while using a special length bolt to connect end tanks of the condenser to the Radiator. Follow the installation instructions to push upper and lower transaxle oil cooler pipes into the Radiator quick connect fittings until a "click" is heard while also placing plastic caps over the quick connect joints. Then tighten the a/c condenser mounting bolts to 13 nm (115 inch lbs.). Replace both cooling fans and the transaxle oil cooler pipe bracket bolt on the lower tie bar while tightening the bolt to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) should be used to install both upper and lower Radiator hoses on the Radiator and establish the coolant recovery hose connection to the Radiator neck. You should complete your maintenance by installing the upper tie bar then adding an upper Radiator seal before filling the cooling system and checking the transmission oil quantity.
