How to replace the engine coolant thermostat (L26/3.8L) on Buick Lucerne?

To replace the l26/3.8l engine coolant Thermostat, commence from removing the intake manifold cover. Sometimes flushing the engines when they go through deep cooling after a long journey. Use hose clamp pliers (J 38185) to move hose clamp to the Thermostat Housing and pull the radiator inlet hose free of the Thermostat Housing. Then remove the Thermostat Housing bolts and the housing with the Thermostat after it. Check and clean the Thermostat Housing mating surfaces. For installation, fit the new Thermostat in its place, and install the Thermostat Housing and bolts with its torque to be 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Replace the radiator inlet hose in the Thermostat Housing after putting on the spray can of liquid pressure connection for the radiator, then secure the hose clamp with the hose clamp pliers (J 38185). Lastly, fill with the cooling system and re-install the intake manifold cover.
