These Brake Calipers are very crucial in increasing both efficiency and safety by exerting force on the brake pads to make contact with the rotors in order to create friction needed for a vehicle to be brought to a standstill. Comes both fixed and floating that meet distinct driving requirements; fixed that assist through the use of opposing pistons and floating to enable more flexibility. Other features remain fine tuning of the car such as the new Dynaride system that was in previous model to control the height and stability of the vehicle. The Buick Park Avenue Brake Calipers also have the function of supporting the braking system and being safe for the operation on the roads, thus making an addition to the unique features of the company's models. Buick Park Avenue Brake Calipers Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the front brake calipers on Buick Park Avenue?
    A:
Service and repair work on the front brake caliper starts with taking it out of the vehicle. Putting your fingers close to the Piston under compressed air pressure puts you at significant risk of injuring yourself. Clean cloths inside caliper housing protect pins from harm during removal when you supply enough compressor air to move them smoothly out of their bores. Pump low-pressure compressed air into the caliper bore until the Brake Caliper Piston moves out through the fluid inlet hole. A short wooden or plastic tool helps you take out and dispose of both the Piston dust boot seal and Piston seal from the caliper unit. First disconnect the caliper bleeder components for further work. Avoid brushing off your Brake Caliper Piston during cleaning. Use denatured alcohol or suitable cleaning solution to purge all dirt from both the caliper Piston bore and seal area plus the Piston itself. Filter clean non-lubricated air to dry the components while looking for cracks, scoring, pitting, excessive rust, and heavy corrosion inside the caliper bore. Plan to replace the caliper assembly when fine emery paper fails to remove light rust or corrosion from the components. Replace the whole caliper unit whenever you find cracks, scratches, or major corrosion in it. If you find damage on the chrome-plated caliper Piston examine or damage to the caliper Piston please replace it. Apply delco supreme 11(R) brake fluid equivalent to gm p/n 12377967 (Canadian P/N 992667) or dot-3 fluid from a clean container to the new Piston seal and install it into the caliper bore. First place the caliper Piston inside the bore space before adding the new Piston dust boot seal over the Piston. Seat the Piston seal completely by using the j 35777 caliper Piston seal installer (J 35777). Affix and tighten the bleeder valve and cap securely to finish the installation process. After installation place the caliper back into position.
  • Q: How to replace the front brake calipers on Buick Park Avenue?
    A:
Before working on the front brake caliper check the fluid level in the brake master cylinder reservoir. When the fluid is higher than halfway between its marks drain it until it reaches the same level. Lift the car for access and take off the tire and wheel part. Our first step is installing two wheel lug nuts by hand while keeping the rotor in place on the hub. Place a large c-clamp on top of the brake caliper and gradually tighten to push the caliper piston into the brake rotor until it can pass through, then remove the c-clamp. Disconnect the brake caliper bolt's brake hose while discarding the two copper brake hose gaskets but sealing off the ends with pliers. Take off the caliper bolts at their pins and lift the caliper away from the bracket. Inspect the pin bolt boots for spots where leather has damaged or torn through. Before placing the brake caliper pin bolts back use a shop towel to clean them and put on a thin coat of niglube(R) grease without adding lubricant to brake pad parts. Press the brake caliper above brake pads into the Brake Caliper Bracket and fasten it using caliper pin bolts until they reach a torque of 85 nm (63 ft. Lbs.). Attach the brake hose bolt to the brake caliper by assembling it with new copper brake hose gaskets then tighten it to 45 nm (33 ft. Lbs.). Depress the brake pedal to a middle position during 2/3rd travel then let it go slowly and repeat until pedal pressure becomes steady. You should put the tire and wheel set onto the vehicle then lower it to the ground when you have removed both wheel lug nuts.
