Seam the new crankshaft balancer shim gm p/n 12573950 onto the crankshaft snout against the Crankshaft Gear by using the crankshaft front oil seal installer (J 41478). The procedure begins with the removal of crankshaft front oil seal installer (J 41478) tool while maintaining grip on the flywheel for the next steps. Install the balancer washer followed by the bolt then utilize torque angle meter (J 36660-A) to torque the balancer bolt to an extra 180 degrees. The last step includes removing the torque converter holding tool followed by reinstallation of the torque converter access plug into the Oil Pan. Then lower the vehicle before reinstalling the Drive Belt and cooling fan and shroud.
