The technician needs to disconnect endgate latch electrical connectors before removing it from the vehicle. The installation process begins by lining up the endgate latch onto the end gate then coupling electrical connectors before securing the endgate latch rod to its location on the end gate. Place the endgate latch into the end gate opening and secure the endgate latch bolts at 10 N.m torque (89 lb in). Reinstall the endgate latch rod to the bellcrank followed by the water deflector and endgate trim panel installation. End the procedure by closing both doors while keeping the endgate latch child safety switch disengaged to prevent problems.
