  Q: How to replace the Hood Latch primary and secondary on Cadillac Catera?

  A: Begin the hood primary and secondary latch replacement process by elevating the hood while freeing the self-locking screw on the radiator cover. Proceed to remove the left radiator cover. Start by removing the hood release cable retainer screw and the hood release cable retainer bracket from the hood then continue with removing the hood release cable from the latch spring followed by carrying out the primary Hood Latch spring removal from the core-support. First attach the primary Hood Latch spring to the core-support and then connect the hood release cable to the latch spring before fastening it with the hood release cable retainer screw. Secure an appropriate amount of tension on the hood release cable then tighten the retainer screw before reinstalling the left radiator cover and self-locking screw and lowering the hood.
