Start the valve stem oil seal and valve spring replacement process by taking out the left
Camshafts before hoisting up the vehicle. Take off the connection between the engine
Oil Pan and transaxle case then examine the torque converter cover. Follow instructions for installment of the j 44214 assembly before lowering the vehicle. Wipe the space around the
Spark Plug clean to protect from harmful objects before taking out the Spark Plug from the processing cylinder. Push the base plate of tool j 44211 into the Spark Plug hole then insert piece j 39313 while using compressed air to block the valve. Fit the arm and swivel nut of the j 44211 over the valve stud and secure it just enough to work on the valve locks for removal using a magnet. Turn and pull the swivel nut so you can move the arm back to drop out the valve spring retainer and valve spring. Use the j 38820 to grab and remove the old valve stem seal before you discard it while examining the valve spring. Apply engine oil to the valve stem and new seal inner ring then put a seal protector on before the j 38820 tool installs the new valve stem seal. Position the valve locks with j 43059 through the valve spring retainer space as you tighten the swivel nut just enough to access them after swinging the assembly arm over the parts. Take off the swivel nut and arm then release air pressure to detach the j 39313 base plate and support plate j 44211 . Put in the new Spark Plug and carry out this step for each cylinder in turn. Place both camshafts back before lifting the vehicle and disconnecting the j 44214 part. Position the converter cover before clamping Oil Pan bolts to 50 nm (37 lb ft).
