Cadillac Escalade Emblem Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the emblem/nameplate on the pickup box on Cadillac Escalade?
A: If you want to put on a new emblem/nameplate for the pickup box, start by gathering the tools you need: You will use the 3M(TM) Scotch Brite Molding Adhesive Remover Disk (3M(TM) P/N 07501) and the Heat Gun (J 25070) together in this process. Start the process by putting tape around where the emblem is to keep things lined up and safe. Move the Heat Gun (J 25070) 152 mm (6.0 in) away from the surface and heat the emblem/nameplate in circles for around thirty seconds. Remove the emblem/nameplate by sliding a plastic flat-bladed tool between it and the pickup box, and then use the 3M(TM) Scotch Brite Molding Adhesive Remover Disk (3M(TM) P/N 07501) to get rid of all adhesive from both the panel and the emblem. Use VMP naptha and a cloth to clean the pickup box surface. Should the position of the emblem/nameplate not be indicated, put tape down as a guide. Use the Heat Gun (J 25070) to heat the pickup box surface up to 21°C (70°F) carefully, but make sure you don't touch the adhesive on the emblem/nameplate. While you are still removing the backing, start by pressing the front end of the emblem/nameplate onto the pickup box panel and attach as you go. Use your hand to roll the emblem/nameplate and make sure it is stuck in place before you take off the tape around it.
