How to service the brake light switch on Cadillac Seville?

Before working on the Brake Light Switch, push the Brake Pedal all the way up or rest it to keep the brake system safe and the switch aligned correctly. Start the process by removing the instrument panel sound insulator and any ip sound insulators that are present. After that, rotate the lower switch to the left and take it out, then separate the two electrical connectors. Be sure to line up the connector at the 6 o'clock position and put the lower switch into the lower retainer after connecting the electrical connectors. Keep sliding the switch into the retainer, and while the switch plunger is all the way in, give it a gentle clockwise twist until it stops and lines up with the 8 o'clock position. Finally, reinstall the sound insulator.
