  A: The first step to replace the Hood Cable begins with opening the hood followed by removing the Hood Latch. The Hood Cable needs removal followed by string attachment to assist the reinstallation process through the engine bay. You must detach the hood release handle from the automobile by unfastening its three mounting screws before removing the cable from the handle. Take a length of string to secure the Hood Cable transmission through the engine compartment. Pull out the Hood Cable grommet from the wheel opening before removing the cable from the vehicle. The string must be transferred from one end of the new Hood Cable while you route both cables toward the passenger compartment before removing the string. Position the grommet into its wheel opening before running the Hood Cable from the handle. Use three fasteners to mount the handle onto the vehicle before tightening each one to 2 n.m (18 lb in). First pass the string with the Hood Cable through the engine compartment before taking out the string and attaching the cable to the Hood Latch and then setting the Hood Latch before finishing with hood closure.
