In order to replace the Differential carrier cover and seal on the left side, the first thing to do is to remove the rear Differential. After that, remove the 9 carrier cover bolts . Separate the carrier by using pry tabs (4, 5, 7), while using pry tabs remove the carrier cover from the carrier and remove o-ring seal/ from the cover . For installation, insert the housing cover o-ring into the groove of the housing cover and lubricate the o-ring with a light oil coat before putting the housing cover onto the housing. Make sure to tighten the 9 side cover bolts in a criss-cross pattern to 29 nm (21 lb ft). Finally, reinstall the rear Differential.
