Before replacing the engine coolant Thermostat Housing (LC3 - 8 Cyl, 4.4L, SC, DOHC), users must begin by draining the cooling system with cooling system draining and filling through static fill (GE 47716) procedure. First detach the Thermostat Housing by removing the air cleaner elements before disconnecting the Radiator Hose and heater hose from their housing. Disassemble the Thermostat Housing by removing all bolts, extracting both housing and Thermostat from the water housing while discarding the seal ring and removing the Thermostat from within the housing. Installation requires cleaning both the Thermostat Housing sealing surfaces and the water housing before putting the Thermostat into position within the housing and applying a new seal onto the Thermostat Housing. Ferment the joint of Thermostat Housing including Thermostat and seal onto the water housing while maintaining proper torque on the bolts at 10 n.m (89 lb in). After reconnecting the heater hose and Radiator Hose to the Thermostat Housing, reinstall the air cleaner assembly. The cooling system requires filling through cooling system draining and filling (Static Fill) (GE 47716).
