How to Replace the Ambient Temperature Sensor for Outside on Cadillac XLR?

The first step for replacing the ambient air temperature gage sensor involves removing both the knee bolster and the driver information center retaining screw. First disconnect the driver information center from the instrument panel (I/P) then disconnect the inside Air Temperature Sensor from the driver information center (DIC) bezel followed by removal of the electrical connector. The installation requires the inside Air Temperature Sensor electrical connector to connect after pushing the sensor entirely into the dic bezel. Next connect the driver information center to the i/p and install the retaining screw and tighten it to 1.9 n.m (17 lb in). Finally, reinstall the knee bolster.
