- Q: How to service and repair the engine flywheel on Cadillac XLR?A: Both j 45059 angle meter and en 46326 Crankshaft holding tool are essential tools for service or repair of the engine Flywheel. The first step must be to remove powertrain components together with driveline support assembly as well as Intake Manifold. First secure the Crankshaft with en 46326 then unfasten the engine Flywheel bolts and extract the Flywheel including the reinforcement. Seal the Flywheel mounting bolts by using gm p/n 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or an equivalent product after conducting a thorough inspection. First place the Flywheel together with its reinforcement onto the Crankshaft then secure the Flywheel mounting bolts. Begin tightening the bolts to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) but continue the process with the j 45059 tool by adding another 50 degrees of rotation. Complete the procedure by detaching the en 46326 component then place back the Intake Manifold followed by the driveline support assembly and powertrain.
