The j 24319-b universal steering linkage puller should be used to disconnect all tie rods and ball joints while also taking out the outer Tie Rod ball stud nut. After you use j 24319-b to detach the outer Tie Rod ball stud from the Steering Knuckle continue by discarding the nut because you will not reuse it. First separate the Tie Rod End from its shaft through jam nut loosening then remove the outer Tie Rod End from its relay rod. Scan the Steering Knuckle shaft for thread damage and inspect its tapered surface then cleanse it for installation. You should apply chassis lubricant on the Tie Rod threads and set the Tie Rod End to the shaft before installing the ball stud of the outer Tie Rod to the Steering Knuckle. Because of the prevailing torque, bolt the new nut onto the outer Tie Rod ball stud and apply 50 nm torque for 15 series but 65 nm torque for 25/35 series vehicles. Finally, adjust the front toe.
