Chevrolet Camaro Brake Disc Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the rear brake disc on Chevrolet Camaro?
A: Following these steps lets you work on replacing the rear Brake Disc. First lift your vehicle and provide support underneath before taking off the tire and wheel assembly. Always replace brake caliper bolts since removing them means disposing of these parts. Fix the brake caliper in place using strong mechanic wire as an alternative to stop damaging the brake hose in operation. After taking off the brake caliper and bolt you can uninstall the repair Brake Disc. Clean rust and impurities from the hub flange and disc surface areas using j-42450-a wheel hub resurfacing kit and j-41013 rotor resurfacing kit. Place the new Brake Disc in position and tightly screw the Brake Disc bolt until it touches 10 nm (89 lb in). Set the brake caliper assembly on the suspension knuckle and thread in new brake caliper bolts that you torque to 40 nm (30 lb ft) with an additional 90 degrees of rotation. After checking the parking brake performance test return the wheel tire unit back in place. Brake Disc resurfacing or replacement requires using both new Brake Pads and disc when burning them in.
