A combination of j 41044 (Engine Support Adapters) and j 28467-b (Universal Engine Support Fixture) should be used to lift and support the engine safely so that the oil pan and crankshaft balancer remain untouched to prevent any damage. Start by detaching the generator along with the
Ignition Control Module and afterward install the engine support fixture to the engine before lifting the vehicle. First remove the 3-way Catalytic Converter after which workers should remove bolt nuts from the right and left Engine Mount and detach the transmission oil cooler pipe bracket bolt and bracket. Lower the vehicle while you remove the A/C Compressor from its mount but do not conduct a refrigerant recovery operation. Increase the engine slightly to minimize the through bolt tension before unfastening the right and left Engine Mount through bolts. The vehicle requires a slightly greater engine elevation to extract the engine mounts before a second engine lift to eliminate the right and left Engine Mount bolts and their corresponding components. The procedure begins with mounting the left Engine Mount and bolts onto the crossmember before tightening them to 58 nm (43 ft. Lbs.). Afterward, install the right Engine Mount and bolts which require similar torque of 58 nm (43 ft. Lbs.). Lower the vehicle while aligning mount receptacles with holes and fit Engine Mount through bolts into their designated positions. After reattaching the A/C Compressor users should raise their vehicle to install the transmission oil cooler pipe bracket with its bolt secured at 17 nm (13 ft. Lbs.). Start by inserting the left side Engine Mount through bolt nut and apply torque of 80 nm (59 ft. Lbs.) then follow with the right side Engine Mount through bolt nut which needs to be tightened to 80 nm (59 ft. Lbs.). Complete the process by placing back the 3-way Catalytic Converter then lower the vehicle and disconnect the engine support fixture before reinstalling the Ignition Control Module and generator.
