  A: Restoring the Brake Disc needs you to get both j 41013 rotor resurfacing kit (J 41013) and j 42450-a Wheel Hub resurfacing kit (J 42450-A). Everyday brake maintenance does not include refinishing disc brake discs and newly purchased discs enter the system without refinishing. Refinishing is appropriate when the disc is still thick enough and shows more than maximum permitted corrosion, cracks, or scratches. Prepare the hub/axle flange and Brake Disc surfaces with the j 42450-a to remove rust. Also use j 41013 to clean the mating surfaces. Mount the Brake Disc firmly onto the brake lathe surfaces first and make sure all contacts stay clean.
