Chevrolet Classic Wheel Hub Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the rear wheel hub and bearing on Chevrolet Classic?
A: To perform the Wheel Bearing and hub replacement work first support and lift the vehicle then take out the wheel and tire parts. When handling the Brake Drum do not strike it directly to protect the bearing and remove the component next. Begin by taking out part of the hub-and-bearing assembly from the axle then work toward removing the top rear bolt and nut since they remain caught by the Brake Shoe. Unplug the sensor wire from the abs wheel speed system and take out all parts of the hub and bearing assembly. After wiring the abs sensor tap, install the hub and bearing unit while setting the first bolt in place first before placing it into the axle. After applying the specified torque to hub bolts install the Brake Drum then put on tires and wheels before lowering the vehicle.
