Chevrolet Lumina Brake Caliper Bracket Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the brake caliper bracket on Chevrolet Lumina?
A: Start by taking off the caliper before replacing the brake caliper bracket. Begin by unscrewing the caliper mounting bracket bolts with the J 36721 (Front Caliper Bracket Torx Bit). Remove the caliper mounting bracket following which detach the bushings. Check the bracket for damage then get a new one when needed. During installation always replace any damaged or removed fasteners because skipping this step could cause both vehicle control failure and personal injuries. Silicone grease lubricates the new bushings before they are installed into the anchor bracket. Use J 36721 to reinstall the caliper mounting bracket before you fasten caliper bracket mounting bolts to 185 Nm (137 ft. lbs.). Finally, reinstall the caliper.
