How to service the camshaft position sensor on Chevrolet Lumina?

The first step to service the Camshaft Position Sensor requires users to turn the ignition off followed by removing the serpentine Drive Belt. The sensor electrical connection requires disconnection before removing its bolt and sensor. A sensor inspection must be performed to check for wear as well as look for any signs of cracks or leakage when you do not plan to replace the sensor. Clean engine oil should be used to lubricate the o-ring before installing the new sensor and a replacement should be performed if the o-ring shows damage. Screw in the retaining bolt of the Camshaft Position Sensor with 10 nm (8 lb ft) torque. After reinstalling the serpentine Drive Belt you must connect the sensor electrical connector.
