How to service the knock sensor on Chevrolet Lumina?

The first step to service the knock sensor starts with ignition shutdown followed by vehicle lift. You must disconnect the knock sensor wiring harness connector from the knock sensor then extract the knock sensor from its position on the engine block. Add application of thread sealant to the sensor threads to the installation instructions of a knock sensor because it already comes factory-coated and extra sealant will prevent detonation detection. Lower the vehicle before connecting the wiring harness to the knock sensor that was installed into the engine block.
