First turn off the ignition then remove the serpentine belt and proceed to take off the Water Pump Pulley. Vehicle lifting caution must be observed at this point before using the lift. The next task involves taking out the right front splash shield while also disconnecting the electrical connector that serves the Camshaft Position Sensor. First remove the retaining screw then extract the camshaft position (CMP) sensor from its place on the engine front cover. To install the Camshaft Position Sensor you must place it on the engine front cover and fasten it with the retaining bolt at 5 n.m (44 lb in). Place back the serpentine belt followed by reinstalling the Water Pump Pulley while tightening its bolts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reattach the electrical connector to the Camshaft Position Sensor. The right front splash shield should now be replaced along with repeating the vehicle lifting caution process before slowly lowering the vehicle.
