    Q: How to service and repair the thermostat on Chevrolet Prizm?
    A: In servicing and repairing the Thermostat, one should first drain the cooling system. Secondly, unscrew the two nuts and Thermostat Housing from the cylinder block. Next, remove the Thermostat starts with the o-ring. Remove any corrosion and debris off the Thermostat cap and clean the mate surfaces of the cylinder block. Heating should also be inspected on the Thermostat with any problems. Install in the process when installing by turning the air bleed valve up, install the Thermostat also additional Thermostat o-ring, installing the Thermostat Housing onto the cylinder block. Fasten the Thermostat cap with the two nuts and tighten them up to 9 nm (80 inch lbs.). Add approved coolant to the Radiator, start the engine, and let it run until the coolant is ready to operate, by the warm hoses and the flow of the coolant through the Radiator. Check for leaks in the cooling system afterward and gain control of the engine by turning it off, then allow the Radiator cap to be installed.
