Start brake plate replacement work by disabling the automatic adjuster for the park brake cable. Elevate the car then take off the tire and wheel unit. Push spring towards lever to compress it then depress the locking tabs to free the cable. Pull out housing from backing plate and extract cable through its slot. Begin by taking off the park brake cable from the lever then proceed to disconnect the rotor
Axle Shaft park brake shoe and backing plate nuts. Afterward detach the backing plate from its location on the axle housing flange. Secure the backing plate to the axle housing flange then fasten backing plate nuts until they reach torque setting of 135 nm (100 ft. Lbs.). Put on the park brake shoe and Axle Shaft while adjusting the park brake shoe position. Add the rotor to the brakes after attaching the park brake cable to its lever. Push the spring towards the lever while sliding the cable through the backing plate slot. After that, push the cable housing into the backing plate until the locking tabs automatically snap in place. Replace the tire and wheel parts on the vehicle then take off safety stands to bring the vehicle down before enabling the auto-adjust feature of the park brake cable.
