    You must remove the Intake Manifold first then disconnect the Knock Sensor electrical connectors while gently pulling up each rubber cover to complete scratch-up of the knock sensors. The fastener notice in service precautions applies to installation so follow it before using a 20 n.m (15 lb ft) torque on the knock sensors. After connecting the Knock Sensor electrical connectors you should push down the rubber covers and reinstall the Intake Manifold.
