Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Oxygen Sensor Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 1 Sensor 1 on Chevrolet Silverado 2500?
A: Vehicle lifting and support becomes the first step to replace the heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) bank 1 sensor 1. You should remove the front propeller shaft from the front Differential when necessary. Remove the ho2s electrical connector from the fuel line clip by disengaging the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer. The ho2s electrical connector needs disconnecting from vehicles that run a 4.8l or 5.3l engine. 6.0l engine owners have to disconnect both the ho2s electrical connector and the sensor itself before proceeding. Remove the ho2s. Users should apply anti-seize compound gm p/n 12377953 to sensor threads during installation because it helps sensor removal in the future. Secure the ho2s using a torque of 42 n.m (31 lb ft). The ho2s electrical connector requires connection for the 6.0l engine and separately for the 4.8l or 5.3l engine through connecting the ho2s electrical connector. Next step is to bolt the front propeller shaft to the front Differential then lower the vehicle. You should reattach the ho2s electrical connector to the fuel line clip and disconnect the cpa retainer.
