How to replace the front brake pads on Chevrolet SSR?

Before starting check the brake master cylinder reservoir for brake fluid level; if the level exceeds midway between maximum and minimum range pull off excess fluid using a brake fluid extractor to reach the midpoint. Lift the vehicle and take off both tire and wheel parts from their position. The Brake Caliper Piston moves back when you tighten a large c-clamp on top of the caliper sticking out into the Brake Pad. Once the piston is in position, remove the c-clamp and slide the caliper off its spot. After taking off the lower mounting bolt from the guide pin you should turn the brake caliper upward to its stopping point. Get rid of both types of Brake Pad together with attachment clips from both brake caliper mounting hardware and the caliper itself. Also use denatured alcohol to wash all foreign particles from the brake caliper. Set new brake pads in their proper position by adding fresh Brake Pad retaining clips first to both brake caliper parts and mounting bracket to achieve right alignment. Mount the brake pads inside and outside the braking surface before placing the brake caliper into its proper position. Fasten the lower guide pin bolt into position and thread it to 42 nm torque value. Return the tire and wheel parts then let the vehicle lower before topping up the brake master cylinder reservoir. Press the brake pedal gradually while applying force to let the brake pads take their position before conducting new pad burnishing.
