The replacement of camshaft position (CMP) sensor demands beginning with dismounting the generator mounting bracket followed by removing both Camshaft Position Sensor mounting bolts and the Camshaft Position Sensor assembly (4, 5, 6) from the front cover assembly. Disconnect the jumper harness that belongs to the Camshaft Position Sensor and the engine harness electrical connectors before separating the camshaft sensor from its o-ring. Use a new o-ring by discarding the old one. The installation of the new o-ring requires motor oil application before inserting it onto the camshaft sensor. Connect the camshaft sensor and to the jumper harness followed by reconnection of the engine harness connector to the jumper harness . Screw the camshaft sensor assembly (4, 5, 6) onto the front cover while using the mounting bolts by tightening them to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). The last step involves reinstalling the generator mounting bracket.
