  A: The first step to replace a heater core begins with heater core removal of the HVAC module assembly. The process begins by unscrewing the clamp screw holding the heater core pipes along with separation of the heater core pipes clamp. Start by unscrewing the HVAC module heater core clamp screws and removing both the heater core clamp. This procedure will allow you to extract the heater core from the HVAC module. Install the heater core by putting it into the HVAC module then fasten it using the heater core clamp according to the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Follow the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions then secure the heater core using the given specifications for clamp screws (1.9 N.m (17 lb in) and clamp (16 N.m (14 lb ft)). Reinstall the HVAC module assembly as the last step.
