Chevrolet Suburban 1500 Fuel Pressure Regulator Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the fuel pressure regulator on Chevrolet Suburban 1500?
A: Starting the Fuel Pressure Regulator service requires users to detach the negative Battery Cable and remove the engine sight shield. When servicing the Fuel Pressure Regulator start by releasing fuel system pressure while removing its vacuum line. Sweep dirt off the Fuel Pressure Regulator retaining part and adjacent components before taking out the Fuel Pressure Regulator retainer and pressure regulator unit from the fuel regulator housing. Starting with the back up ring go under the Fuel Pressure Regulator followed by application of a new large o-ring and a regulator filter. New small o-rings need placement on the Fuel Pressure Regulator followed by engine oil lubrication of both large and small o-rings. Install the Fuel Pressure Regulator into the regulator housing of the Fuel Rail while using a fresh Fuel Pressure Regulator retainer. Connect the vacuum line to the Fuel Pressure Regulator and the negative terminal lead while tightening the fuel tank lid. The ignition system should be turned on followed by a 2 second period before shutting off for 10 seconds before the engine is restarted to detect fuel leaks. The last step involves putting back the engine sight shield.
