Chevrolet Uplander A/C Accumulator Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Accumulator in an air conditioning system on Chevrolet Uplander?
A: Ventilation of the air-conditioning lines must be sealed by applying tape or caps to stop system contamination. Particle from the A/C Condenser must be removed initially. Afterward reapply the caps or tapes to the exposed a/c lines. The A/C Accumulator removal starts with removing the upper bracket screw and the lower bolts before extracting the accumulator itself through removal of the lower sealing washers. Cap or tape the condenser lower openings. The specified pag oil amount goes directly into the new A/C Accumulator during its installation. Place new lower A/C Accumulator sealing washers into the condenser lower openings and install the A/C Accumulator along with them. Begin with the installation of lower bolts before torqueing each one to 16 n.m (12 lb ft) while using the same value to tighten the upper bracket screw. As the last step take off tape or caps from exposed a/c lines before installing the A/C Condenser.
