Start the repair process if you find no damage to the inner Tie Rod. Put the gear into a vise while maintaining its current steering gear preload adjustment setting to protect it from damage. Mirror orientation and safety by sliding the shock dampener onto the rack then away from the inner Tie Rod assembly. A pipe wrench on the rack's inner Tie Rod housing flats plus an additional wrench on the rack's inner Tie Rod housing can be used to turn the rack counterclockwise for its separation from the rack. The shock dampener must be detached from the inner Tie Rod housing before the inner Tie Rod removal process can begin again. Before you reattach the inner Tie Rod to the rack, clean both components' threaded parts and apply either loctite(R) 262 or a similar thread sealer to the threads.
