Chevrolet Venture A/C Hose Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service and repair the A/C Hose using the A/C Line Repair Kit (J 41425) on Chevrolet Venture?
A: Service and repair of the heater and A/C pipe requires the A/C Line Repair Kit (J 41425) for all cases of rub-through or collision damage or leakage in rear A/C or heater lines while performing sectional repairs as opposed to rebuilding the entire unit. Maintain the needed minimum length section within the straight part of the line at both ends of the splice. Begin by recuperating the refrigerant and draining the coolant if required before raising and supporting the vehicle. Use a tubing cutter to cut through the damaged section before removing it then obtain replacement line of equal length. Prepare the line ends with LOK prep sealant after you clean the burrs or grease from the ends using provided cleaning pad from the A/C Line Repair Kit (J 41425). Tooth each LOK fitting with a drop of sealing compound (J 41425-3) before placing the lines into the connectors then turn the fitting for even distribution of the sealing compound. The kit (J 41425-1) requires proper LOK fitting jaws for installation before positioning them on LOK connectors. Tighten the forcing screw until the collars reach their stop point at the center shoulder of the fitting. Check the line installation before lowering the vehicle while also performing a coolant refill if draining occurred together with evaporative and pressure charging for the repaired A/C lines. A procedure similar to pipe tapping must be performed for line sectioning by staggered spliced connections and complete consistency with replacement segment measurements.
