How to replace the rear brake pads on GMC Envoy?

Check brake fluid level in the master cylinder tank before starting. If fluid level is above the specified range, use a brake fluid extractor until it hits the correct position. Lift the vehicle and take off the tire and wheel unit. Push the rear brake caliper pistons towards the rotor with a large c-clamp on the top of the housing before sliding off the brake caliper by tightening the clamp until the pistons move back enough. To start, unscrew the top brake caliper bolt. Next push the brake caliper down until it stops before taking out both brake pads and retaining clips from the brake caliper mount. Finally remove the caliper retaining clip from the brake caliper. Dampen the brake caliper mounting bracket with denatured alcohol and dry it with filtered air that does not contain any lubricant. During Brake Pad installation use only new Brake Pad retaining clips and put them on the brake caliper mounting bracket first before adding new brake pads. Place the Brake Pad retaining clip onto the brake caliper piece before elevating the rear brake caliper into its right position. Secure the brake caliper mounting bolt above by turning it 31 nm (23 ft. Lbs.) before rehanging the wheel and tire. The driver should raise or lower the vehicle while filling the brake fluid tank as needed. Press the Brake Pedal gently and fully until new pads make contact with the rotor to burnish the surface correctly.
