GMC Jimmy Power Steering Hose Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Power Steering Hose on GMC Jimmy?
A: Starting the Power Steering Cooler pipe/hose replacement requires removal of the air cleaner assembly along with installing a drain pan beneath the car. Remove the Power Steering Hose from both the cooler side and the pump side before removing the hose from the car. The installation should prevent both inlet and outlet hoses from twisting or becoming misshaped because doing so may damage the components. Reconnect the Power Steering Cooler hose onto the vehicle by joining its ends to the steering cooler while securing the clamp with 2 nm (118 inch lbs.) torque. The hose installation begins with connecting it to the Power Steering Pump while pressing down on the clamp to achieve 2 nm (18 inch lbs.). When all the connections are finished you can take out the drain pan and return the air cleaner assembly to its place. The power steering system needs a bleeding procedure as its final step for normal operation.
