GMC Savana 3500 EGR Valve Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to service the EGR valve on GMC Savana 3500?
A:
The initial step for EGR Valve service begins with turning off ignition before eliminating the air cleaner assembly while keeping note of the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve position to prevent 180-degree rotation. The EGR Valve harness connector needs removal and the linear EGR Valve requires protection against damaging liquids since it functions as an electrical device. Before disassembling you must remove all EGR Valve to flange attaching bolts because the linear EGR Valve requires complete assembly service. You should remove the linear EGR Valve followed by the flange gasket while cleaning its surface. The procedure begins with the replacement of the new flange gasket before setting down the linear EGR Valve. Tighten the EGR Valve to the flange bolts first to 10 n.m (89 lb in) and then to the final torque of 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Connect the EGR Valve harness to its connector then put back the air cleaner assembly.
