How to replace the Parking Brake Shoe (w/RPO NYS) on GMC Sierra 1500?

Begin the process of replacing the park brake shoe (w/RPO NYS) when the park brake is off then the vehicle is secured on a lift system. Disassemble the tire and wheel assembly followed by cable tension relief through intermediate cable pull-down followed by cable release from the equalizer bar position. Start by taking out the rear park brake bracket bolt before detaching the park brake cable from the park brake actuator lever and extracting the Wheel Bearing which leads to shoe removal from the backing plate. To install the system first link the park brake shoe to the backing plate while reinstalling the Wheel Bearing before adjusting the park brake shoe position. The park brake cable needs to be connected to the park brake actuator lever before installing the rear park brake bracket bolt to a torque of 61 nm (45 ft. Lbs.). First install the tire and wheel assembly and then lower the vehicle before adjusting the park brake cable. Finally reattach the cable to the equalizer bar.
