A: Initiating ABS Control Module replacement requires placing the ignition switch at OFF while then raising and supporting the vehicle. Raise and support the vehicle. First remove bolts and retainers of the antilock brake system (ABS) module splash shield. Then remove the splash shield itself. Separate the ABS Control Module electrical connector first and then loosen but not remove the ABS Control Module bolts. The process entails directing the ABS Control Module at an even pace to remove electrical connectors from the BPMV before uninstalling both ABS Control Module bolts and the ABS Control Module. Begin ABS Control Module installation by placing this component straight onto the BPMV. Mount the ABS Control Module bolts tests in an X pattern while setting torque to 3 Nm (27 lb in). Connect the ABS Control Module electrical connector. A new ABS Control Module requires programming before installation and additional procedures for sensor and boost valve calibration and the underlying ABS Control Module learn features must be performed. Complete the installation by installing the ABS module splash shield and attaching its retainers after securing bolts at 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
