Wiper Arm, Driver Side

Put the wiper arm in the park position as the first step. Take off the washer hose from the vehicle connector, and then take out the cap and nut on the wiper arm. Take the wiper arm off the wiper motor shaft. For assembly, put the new wiper arm on the wiper motor shaft while it is in park, make sure it sits on the park ramp, and tighten it with the nut until you reach 23 N.m (17 lb ft), following the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Afterwards, put the cap back on the wiper arm and attach the washer hose to the car.

Using tools and basic components, replace your back wiper arm by setting it into park position first. Uninstall the washer hose from vehicle port and then take off the cap and nut from the wiper arm. Remove the wiper arm from the motor shaft. Set the new wiper arm on top of the wiper motor shaft in the park position when it naturally stops against the park ramp. Set the wiper arm in place then fasten the nut with torque 23 N.m (17 lb ft). Replace the washer hose into its original connection point before putting back the wiper arm cap.

To install a new wiper arm, first mark the wiper park position on the windshield with a suitable non-permanent marker. Lift off the cover of the wiper arm nut, unscrew off the wiper arm retaining nut and carry off the wiper arm from the wiper transmission drive shaft. For installation, place it in line with marks drawn on the windshield and press it down onto the wiper transmission drive shaft completely. Fit the retaining nut to the wiper transmission drive shaft and the wiper arm, and torque it to 23 N.m (17 lb ft). Lastly, after inserting the washer inside the washer hole, reinstall the cover on the wiper arm nut.

The wiper arm replacement starts by placing the wiper arm into park position. Detach the washer tube from its connection with the vehicle and remove the cap and nut from the wiper arm before taking it off written. Uninstall the wiper arm from its position on the wiper motor shaft. Set the new wiper arm on top of the wiper motor shaft when it points toward the park position and lets the arm rest on the park ramp. Use a wrench to install and fasten the nut to 23 N.m (17 lb ft). After the work is finished secure the washer hose to the vehicle connector and place the cap over the wiper arm.

Locate a spot on the windshield in its parked position and trace it with a long-lasting writing tool. Uncover the wiper arm nut first before taking off the retaining nut to remove the wiper arm from the wiper shaft. Fitting starts with putting the wiper arm onto the wiper transmission drive shaft where it fits at the positions marked on the windshield. Push it all the way down onto the shaft. The wiper arm should go on the wiper transmission drive shaft with its retaining nut tightened to 23 N.m (17 lb ft). Place the cover back onto the wiper arm nut.

Apply a non-permanent marker to mark the wiper park position on your windshield before beginning wiper arm replacement. You need to first remove the wiper arm nut cover before removing the wiper arm retaining nut to detach the wiper arm from the wiper transmission drive shaft. You should follow the installation instructions in the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Attach the wiper arm to the wiper transmission drive shaft while matching the marks on the windshield then push the arm fully onto the shaft. Secure the retaining nut on the wiper transmission drive shaft and wiper arm by tightening it to 23 N.m (17 lb ft). To finish the installation place the cover over the wiper arm nut.

Mark the wiper park position on the windshield with a suitable non-permanent marker.

Take off the wiper arm retaining nut and detach the wiper arm from the wiper transmission drive shaft.
