    Q:
How to service the Headlight Bulb on Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step for servicing the headlamp bulb involves lifting the hood and holding the headlamp to avoid damage. First remove all bolts from the headlamp assembly before lifting it to pop out the tabs which are situated at the fender's edge and bottom. You need to unplug the electrical connector from the headlamp assembly before possibly taking out the assembly from the vehicle. Guests can remove the headlamp bulb access cover by turning it counter-clockwise followed by socket rotation clockwise to extract the headlamp bulb. Disconnect the electrical connector of the headlamp bulb when required. To access the park/turn bulb start by counterclockwise action on the access cover followed by socket rotation to remove the bulb while gently tugging the bulb from its socket. Installation requires you to place the park/turn bulb within the socket before turning the socket clockwise into position inside the headlamp housing. Put the clock-wise motion to replace the park/turn bulb access cover. The electrical connector should be connected to the headlamp bulb before the socket installation into the housing through clockwise rotation for locking purposes. The headlamp bulb access cover needs to be installed by rotating it clockwise while you reconnect the electrical connector to the headlamp assembly. Place the headlamp assembly on the vehicle where its tabs must lock into position before tightening bolts to 2 n.m (18 lb in). Complete the process by inspecting the headlamp alignment and perform adjustments if needed before securely closing the hood.

    Q:
How to replace the headlight assembly or headlight bulb or cornering, sidemarker, park, and turn signal bulb on Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
While holding the headlamp to protect it open the hood before replacing any headlamp parts. Use a tool to take out all bolts from the headlamp assembly then push upward to free the attaching tabs on its bottom and fender edge. Unplug the power connector from the headlamp before you detach the unit from its vehicle mount. Turn the headlamp bulb access cover to the left if necessary. When ready, you can remove the socket by turning it counterclockwise. Unplug the headlamp bulb electrical wire when needed. To take out the park/turn bulb from the socket turn it counterclockwise and then turn the access cover counterclockwise. Remove the bulb when necessary by gently pulling it from its socket. To install the park/turn bulb you need to place it into the bulb socket and turn the socket clock-wise to position it inside the headlamp housing. Secure the park/turn bulb access cover after turning it clockwise by placing the electrical connector on the headlight bulb and locking the housing socket through clockwise rotation. Twist the headlamp bulb access cover clockwise as you reposition the electrical connector into the assembly and place it back on the vehicle. You should attach headlamp assembly bolts then fasten them to 2 n.m torque (18 lb inch settings). Verify the headlamp alignment after closing the hood while making essential changes to the optical system.
