    First, lift and sustain the hood before taking the Hood Cable out from the Hood Latch to free it from the radiator support retainer. You need to place the Hood Cable and grommet through the cab while pushing them from the engine compartment after removing the left side hinge pillar trim panel that belongs to the body. You can retrieve the Hood Cable from the vehicle after you first remove screws that hold the cable handle to the body and follow by taking the handle off the hinge pillar. The installation process requires inserting the Hood Cable into its original position which starts from the cabin area then exits toward the engine compartment. Secure the Hood Cable grommet at the front of the dash after which you can install the cable handle onto the hinge pillar while screwing it into place. The left side hinge pillar trim panel gets reattached to the body before the Hood Cable is directed to the radiator support retainer where the Hood Latch receives it. Complete the process by closing the hood while inspecting the Hood Cable's function as a hood release system.

    Starting the replacement of the Hood Cable requires you to lift the hood while providing support. Detach the cable from both the Hood Latch and from its retainer at the radiator support. For replacement push both cable and grommet through the engine compartment toward the cab before taking out the left side hinge pillar trim panel from the body. Start by removing the screws which secure the cable handle to the body before detaching the handle from the hinge pillar. The following step is eliminating the cable from the vehicle. The cable setup requires positioning at the vehicle before guiding it from the cabin through the engine compartment. Place the cable grommet at the dash front before securing the cable handle to its respective position on the hinge pillar through screws. Reattach the left side hinge pillar trim panel to the body before connecting the cable through its retainer installation on the radiator support and to the Hood Latch. To complete the operation check the hood by closing it while verifying the hood release cable works correctly.
