Condenser

Begin by using a halogen leak detector j 39400-a to check for leaks on the component fittings. Start your work by extracting refrigerant from the a/c system. The upper radiator support needs to be taken off next. Start by removing the fitting bolt to disconnect the a/c compressor hose assembly from the A/C Condenser fitting before immediately sealing the open a/c components with caps or tape to prevent contamination. Next raise the vehicle and proceed to take off the front evaporator inlet line bolt from the A/C Condenser before disconnecting the line so discard the seal washer and use caps or tape to seal the line. Use an air hammer to remove one lh and one rh radiator baffle upper retainer pin then push the baffle forward for more clearance. Lower the condenser along the radiator to free its tabs from the slots before taking it out of the vehicle. To install a new condenser add pag oil as specified then lower the unit into the vehicle for secure tab insertion into radiator slots before reinstallation. Connect the front evaporator inlet line to the A/C Condenser by installing a new washer and tighten the bolt to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). Connect the hose assembly to the A/C Condenser using a new seal washer followed by tight bolt installation at 16 n.m (12 lb ft). To complete this procedure you should reinstall the upper radiator support and then evacuate and recharge the a/c system following your test with the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).

A vehicle owner should first remove refrigerant from their a/c system prior to installing a new air conditioning condenser. First remove the Radiator support before disconnecting the A/C Condenser fitting by removing its bolt and using a cap or tape for contamination prevention. First lift the vehicle before you disconnect the front evaporator inlet line bolt from the A/C Condenser while throwing away its seal washer and using a cap or tape on the exposed line. Lift the vehicle using a jack then remove lh and rh Radiator air baffle upper retainer pins. You can create more space with a forward tilt of the air baffle before lifting the A/C Condenser toward the Radiator slots to release the tabs so the condenser can be removed from the vehicle. Following new condenser installation, apply pag oil according to the specified amount and mount the condenser before lowering it to have the Radiator slots receive its tabs. The front evaporator inlet line needs a new seal washer after removing the caps or tape before hand-tightening the A/C Condenser bolt to 16 nm (12 lb ft). Connect the hose assembly to the A/C Condenser using a new seal washer after lowering the vehicle then tighten the bolt to 16 nm (12 lb ft). To finish the installation you should add the upper Radiator support followed by evacuation and recharging the a/c system then running a fitting leak test with j 39400-a.

Replacement of the air conditioning condenser starts with refrigerant recovery from the a/c system. After removing the upper radiator support you should disconnect the a/c compressor hose assembly from the A/C Condenser fitting by removing the fitting bolt while using either caps or tape to prevent contaminants. First elevate the vehicle and disconnect the front evaporator inlet line by removing its bolt while discarding the seal washer and capping or taping the line. To access installation you need to remove lh and rh radiator air baffle upper retainer pins and tilt the air baffle forward with care. The A/C Condenser needs to be lifted into position so its tabs can disengage from radiator slots before vehicle removal. For a new condenser installation add pag oil following the specified quantity and then set the condenser in place before lowering the condenser to let its tabs fit into the radiator slots correctly. Before connecting the front evaporator inlet line to the A/C Condenser it is necessary to remove caps or tape and install a new seal washer before tightening the bolt to 16 nm (12 lb ft). The a/c compressor hose assembly requires removal of its cap or tape before installing the new seal washer and attaching the hose to the A/C Condenser with a tightened bolt to reach 16 nm (12 lb ft). The installation of upper radiator support should follow system evacuation and recharge and then conduct a/c fitting leak tests with j 39400-a - halogen leak detector.

The replacement process for a condenser requires refrigerant extraction from the a/c system first. The upper radiator support must come off before you remove the upper radiator seals. Remove the a/c compressor hose assembly to A/C Condenser fitting bolt before taping or capping open a/c components to avoid system contamination. The a/c compressor hose assembly should be disconnected from the A/C Condenser fitting before the seal washer gets discarded and the a/c compressor hose assembly gets capped with tape. Support the vehicle during maintenance then unscrew the liquid line bolt at the A/C Condenser before pulling the liquid line loose from the A/C Condenser. Throw away the seal washer and secure the front evaporator inlet line with a cap or tape. Pluck bottom radiator seals from their position and slowly lower the vehicle. The A/C Condenser requires you to raise it along the radiator while pulling the A/C Condenser tabs free from the radiator slots and then remove the A/C Condenser from the vehicle. The condenser requires a specific volume of pag oil when requiring replacement so add it directly to the condenser during installation. Lower the new A/C Condenser into position while using gravity to lock each A/C Condenser tab into its matching radiator slot. Put the vehicle in a raised position before reattaching the lower radiator seals . Then remove protective materials from the front evaporator inlet line. Attaching the liquid line to the A/C Condenser requires a new seal washer while the front evaporator inlet line bolt needs to be installed with a torque setting of 16 n.m (12 lb ft). After lowering the vehicle you should remove the cap or tape covering the a/c compressor hose assembly before installing a new seal washer for the hose assembly. Tighten the a/c compressor hose assembly bolt at the A/C Condenser to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). Evacuation follows system charging then halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) checks all fittings before upper radiator seals and upper radiator support installation.

Use the Halogen Leak Detector (J 39400-A) to ensure there are no leaks.

Position the new A/C condenser into the vehicle and lower it to secure the tabs into the radiator slots.

Remove the cap or tape from the A/C compressor hose assembly, install a new seal washer, and connect the hose assembly to the A/C condenser, tightening the corresponding bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system using the Halogen Leak Detector (J 39400-A).
