    Q:
How to replace the ABS Control Module on Buick Rainier? Posted by Customer
    A:
Vehicle elevation is necessary to disconnect both electrical connectors located on the side of the ABS Control Module. A long flat-bladed screwdriver should be used to activate the lock tab present on the ABS Control Module's electrical connector which is found at the back. The installation of T 25-TORX bit requires clean TORX screw heads; if 25-TORX-3 screws show damage or cannot be removed then both ABS Control Module and BPMV need replacement. Loosen the four mounting screws with the T 25-TORX bit while applying light pressure but avoiding ABS Control Module or BPMV distortion before pulling away the ABS Control Module from the BPMV. Upon installation avoid repeated usage of old screws and always use fresh screws with new ABS Control Module equipment and skip the application of RTV or any sealant when assembling the ABS Control Module gasket along with mating surfaces. The ABS Control Module needs to be positioned onto the BPMV before torquing the four new T-25 TORX screws to 5 Nm (39 inch lbs.) through an X-pattern configuration. Connect the electrical wire connectors on both sides of the ABS Control Module while also attaching the connector at the back of the ABS Control Module before lowering the vehicle. Terminate the procedure by executing the Tire Size Calibration function through the Scan Tool.

    Q:
How to Replace and Calibrate an ABS Control Module on Chevrolet Trailblazer? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace ABS Control Module (ABSCM) involves vehicle elevation. The removal process begins by disconnecting each electrical connector affixed to the side of the ABSCM before applying a long flat-bladed screwdriver to disengage the lock tab of the electrical connector positioned at the back of the ABSCM. Install the T 25-TORX bit properly after cleaning all TORX screw heads; use a new ABSCM and BPMV if T 25-TORX screws show damage or refusal to removal. Use the T 25-TORX bit to remove the four mounting screws keeping an appropriate amount of force in place to disengage the components. Resist prying on either the ABSCM or BPMV. The new ABSCM installation should omit the reuse of aging screws and should not involve the application of RTV or sealant on either the gasket or mating surfaces. The ABSCM should be set on the BPMV while using four new T-25 TORX screws which must be tightened to 5Nm (39 inch lbs.) in an X-pattern. Reconnect both electrical connector strands located on the ABSCM side panel followed by connecting the third electrical connector at the back of the ABSCM before you lower the vehicle. The tire calibration requires revision by performing a size calibration through the Scan Tool command.

    Q:
How to Reprogram and Set Up an ABS Control Module on GMC Envoy? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement of the ABS control module requires ABS control module reprogramming through the Service Programming System (SPS) while the tire calibration needs to be revised through the Scan Tool Tire Size calibration function. The Service Programming System (SPS) becomes necessary to reprogram the ABS control module when such operation is required.
