Evaporator Core

The hvac module removal process requires removal of the heating core seal and Evaporator tubes before replacing the core. The Evaporator core needs to be removed by separating the hvac Evaporator case halves after unscrewing its upper hvac Evaporator case screws. The installation process starts by adding the suitable amount of refrigerant oil to the Evaporator followed by inserting the Evaporator core into the module housing while following the fastener notice in service precautions. Fasten the new upper hvac module case by using upper hvac module screws to 1.4 n.m (12 lb in). As a final step install the seal over both pipes of the Heater Core and the Evaporator and then reinstall the hvac assembly.

The first step to replace the Evaporator core requires disassembly of the hvac module assembly. The first step involves removing the seal surrounding Heater Core and Evaporator tubes followed by unscrewing the upper hvac Evaporator case screws until the hvac Evaporator case separates into two halves for access to the Evaporator core that needs removal. A user should add correct refrigerant oil to the Evaporator before installing the Evaporator core into its housing followed by upper hvac module case installation. The upper hvac module screws need tightening to 1.4 n.m (12 lb in) while following the installation of the seal that covers the Heater Core and Evaporator pipes prior to hvac assembly completion.

The replacement process of the Evaporator core begins after hvac module removal so technicians can unlock the Heater Core seal and Evaporator tubes. The first step involves unbolted the case while the next step requires upper Evaporator case removal ahead of the Evaporator core extraction. The subsequent step requires removing the Evaporator case seals. When installing the Evaporator you should add refrigerant oil during replacement but first install the Evaporator itself. Install new Evaporator case seals while you proceed to install the upper Evaporator case and the upper case bolts. The last step involves reinstalling the hvac module assembly after you finish reinserting the seal that encircles both Heater Core and Evaporator tubes.

All Evaporator core servicing must begin with a stoppage of the A/C Compressor operations. Begin the engine while setting the blower speed to its highest level at maximum heat temperature settings. Turn off the engine after removing a/c system filters during a ten-minute time period. After shaking the deodorizer spray can users should attach the extension tube to the nozzle. Reset the engine before setting the blower to maximum speed and putting the tubing inside the filter opening. The operator should shoot the nozzle for 2-3 minutes while spraying the can's material before shutting off the power source. Turn on your engine followed by a 3-5 minute waiting period after which you should set the blower to maximum speed while letting it dry the Evaporator for 15-20 minutes. Replace the a/c system air filters as the last step when finishing the replacement procedure.

Reinstall the upper HVAC evaporator case, tightening the screws to 1.4 N.m (12 lb in).

The evaporator core should be removed.

Remove the bolts that hold the case together and take out the upper evaporator case.

Install the new evaporator.

Remove the upper evaporator case.

Install the evaporator and new evaporator case seals, then reattach the upper evaporator case and secure it with the upper case bolts.

Remove the HVAC module assembly.

First install the evaporator.

Install the evaporator, ensuring to add refrigerant oil if the evaporator is being replaced.

Reinstall the seal around the heater core and evaporator tubes before securing the HVAC module assembly back in place.
