    Q:
How to replace the front wheel bearing on Chevrolet Lumina? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the front wheel drive shaft bearing, lift and support the vehicle sufficiently. Take off the wheel and tire without reaching the nut in order to prevent a permanent bearing damage. Loosen the drive axle shaft nut, one turn is enough and then get rid of the caliper and mounting bracket followed with the rotor. Then after that take out the drive axle shaft nut and loosen the hub/bearing to knuckle/strut attaching bolts. Insert the front hub spindle remover (J 28733-B) and push the axle splines back out of the hub/bearing, being sure to avoid damaging the axle seals. Remove the bolts which hold the hub/bearing being attached to the knuckle, then remove the ABS Sensor bolting then position the ABS Sensor aside to avoid getting damaged before removing the hub/bearing. Check all components for wear or damage. For installation: position the hub/bearing on axle shaft splines and install the knuckle to hub / bearing attach bolts. Hold the ABS Sensor and fix it using the mounting bolt , rotor to it , brake caliper and mounting bracket. Replace a new drive axle nut and tighten the drive axle nut to 215 nm (159 ft. Lbs.). Finally, mount the tire and wheel assembly and lower the vehicle.
