    Q:
How to replace the fuel level sensor on Chevrolet Express 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The process begins with Battery Cable de-powering and evacuating fuel system pressure before replacement of the sensor. Start by draining the Fuel Tank and then proceeding to eliminate the tank before removing the fuel sender assembly. The first step is to disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector then remove the retaining clip of the Fuel Level Sensor electrical connector which sits underneath the fuel sender cover. After removing the retaining clip you need to squeeze the locking tangs of the Fuel Level Sensor to extract it from position. Install the new Fuel Level Sensor by placing it into position before anchoring it with retaining clip. Connect the electrical connector to the Fuel Level Sensor before arranging the retaining clip. The next operation includes reinstalling the fuel sender assembly after reconnecting the fuel pump electrical connector. Then reinstalling the Fuel Tank follows suit. Place fuel inside the tank before putting on the fuel cap and reconnecting the negative battery lead. End this tall order by performing a fuel leak inspection by waiting 2 seconds with ignition on followed by 10 seconds with ignition off and another 2 seconds with ignition on.

    Q:
How to replace the fuel level sensor on GMC Savana 1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
You must disconnect the negative Battery Cable and release fuel system pressure for replacing the Fuel Level Sensor. Start by draining the Fuel Tank before taking out the Fuel Tank along with the fuel sender assembly. The technician should first disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector and remove the electrical connector retaining clip which secures the Fuel Level Sensor. First disconnect the Fuel Level Sensor electrical connector which is beneath the fuel sender cover then extract the retaining clip from the sensor. Pressing the locking tangs makes it possible to remove the Fuel Level Sensor. To install the new Fuel Level Sensor you should first secure it with the retaining clip then proceed to attach the electrical connector and electrical connector retaining clip to their respective locations. Connect the electrical connector to the Fuel Level Sensor followed by installation of the electrical connector retaining clip. The fuel sender assembly goes back in followed by the Fuel Tank once you complete the fuel pump electrical connector reconnection process. Reforecast the fuel cell then install its filler opening before you reconnect vehicle electricity supply. Job completion requires starting the ignition for 2 seconds followed by switching it off for 10 seconds then restarting it to look for fuel leaks.
